IQ® Glass are lucky enough to work on some of the UK's most prestigious residential architectural projects and 2018 was no exception.
This year-long build unleashed the true potential of this luxury family home by making the most of the outstanding views that surround the property. The large glazing installation helps the homeowners to enjoy the surrounding countryside while creating a seamless connection between the two environments.

This project saw the redevelopment of two self-contained flats to change them back into their original state, which was a single-family home. The property came with a rich history and the owners wanted to include this within the design, therefore Mondrian® glazing systems were chosen for use both internally and externally.

This balcony-style contemporary extension, designed by Kaap Studio Architects, was created to extend the ground floor level of this 4-storey Victorian London terrace home. The vast number of glazing products used on this project not only created a bright and airy extension but also helped enhance the natural light intake within the existing ground floor rooms.

During 2018, this new build luxury home was completed in Henley-on-Thames which utilised a large amount of glazing to create a bright and airy family home. The main key feature of this property was the two-storey minimal windows® Guillotine Window; a vertically sliding sash window measuring an impressive 4200mm wide x 6038mm high!
To make the most of their incredible countryside views, the homeowners of this rural farmhouse wanted to extend their home utilising large glass installations. A corner opening minimal windows® sliding door was installed to the rear façade so that the owners can enjoy that well sought-after indoor-outdoor living environment during the warmer months.

This contemporary home included a structural glass link to connect two sections of the property together with a light-filled hallway. The glass link allows homeowners and visitors to enjoy the views beyond the rear of the home when they arrive in the front driveway.
This family home in Chorleywood (Buckinghamshire) needed a stronger connection to the outdoor living space, more light within the property and more living space, therefore the homeowners desired a highly glazed ground floor extension.
Glass box extensions are a modern method of increasing both light and space while also connecting the garden and property together. These glass box extensions offer the ultimate indoor-outdoor living space as the large panes of glass offer uninterrupted views of the garden and surrounding landscape.
Architects Studio Carver designed this contemporary extension to this home in Belsize Park, to transform a disused area beside the home into a new reading room and study. The main focal point of this project was the large frameless glass window that looks out into the garden from the wooden desk in the reading room.

In Weybridge (Surrey) this four-bedroom house underwent a huge renovation to better connect the home and garden. Soup Architects helped the homeowners to design a multi-award-winning extension that not only saw the development of the property but also the garden received new landscaping.

Chestnut Ridge
This year-long build unleashed the true potential of this luxury family home by making the most of the outstanding views that surround the property. The large glazing installation helps the homeowners to enjoy the surrounding countryside while creating a seamless connection between the two environments.
Set within a rural valley, this home is encased with tall trees and a variety of shrubbery which helps to draw the homeowners even closer to the landscape. This unique home accentuated this by utilising exposed wooden beams within the interior design which juxtaposes the super contemporary aesthetic of the glazing systems.

Broadhurst Gardens
This project saw the redevelopment of two self-contained flats to change them back into their original state, which was a single-family home. The property came with a rich history and the owners wanted to include this within the design, therefore Mondrian® glazing systems were chosen for use both internally and externally.
The Mondrian® systems offer a traditional industrial style aesthetic due to the slim steel frame. The architects, MW Architects, utilised this product range throughout the whole home to create an adaptable open-plan living space; internal sliding and bifolding doors were used to provide optional privacy.

Gauden Road
This balcony-style contemporary extension, designed by Kaap Studio Architects, was created to extend the ground floor level of this 4-storey Victorian London terrace home. The vast number of glazing products used on this project not only created a bright and airy extension but also helped enhance the natural light intake within the existing ground floor rooms.
This design intelligently used a combination of slim framed sliding doors and frameless glass balustrades, so the owners can slide open their doors during summer and enjoy the outstanding ventilation while the frameless balustrades offer protection (due to the floor level change) without obstruction the views at eye level.

Warwickshire Farmhouse
To make the most of their incredible countryside views, the homeowners of this rural farmhouse wanted to extend their home utilising large glass installations. A corner opening minimal windows® sliding door was installed to the rear façade so that the owners can enjoy that well sought-after indoor-outdoor living environment during the warmer months.
The finished result was a juxtaposition of heritage against contemporary, with the new glazing providing a ‘wow factor’ to the external façade of the farmhouse. Set within a rural valley, Warwickshire Farmhouse now benefits from large uninterrupted views of the rolling hills in the landscape.

Effingham
This contemporary home included a structural glass link to connect two sections of the property together with a light-filled hallway. The glass link allows homeowners and visitors to enjoy the views beyond the rear of the home when they arrive in the front driveway.
Two large Vitra Pivots were installed to the glass link to provide a minimalistic transition from the front through to the rear garden. This unique installation creates an eye-catching statement to the property resulting in a modern aesthetic.

This family home in Chorleywood (Buckinghamshire) needed a stronger connection to the outdoor living space, more light within the property and more living space, therefore the homeowners desired a highly glazed ground floor extension.
The result was a beautiful light-filled extension that provided the homeowners with an indoor-outdoor living feeling to their new open-plan kitchen/dining/living room space.

Glass box extensions are a modern method of increasing both light and space while also connecting the garden and property together. These glass box extensions offer the ultimate indoor-outdoor living space as the large panes of glass offer uninterrupted views of the garden and surrounding landscape.
To create a cohesive design, the aluminium framing of the sliding doors was PPC in the same RAL colour as the other glazing systems on this property; resulting in a well thought through the contemporary finish.

Architects Studio Carver designed this contemporary extension to this home in Belsize Park, to transform a disused area beside the home into a new reading room and study. The main focal point of this project was the large frameless glass window that looks out into the garden from the wooden desk in the reading room.
Wooden elements were widely used alongside the glazing, both internally as a bookcase and desk, and externally for the wall cladding that flowed forward into the garden. The beauty of this design is the simplicity of the overall aesthetic.

Oatlands close has won several prestigious awards due to the outstanding architectural design. These awards include the RIBA South East Awards 2018, the RIBA South East Small Projects Awards 2018 and the Times British Homes Award 2018.
