As part of one of the UK’s leading architectural glazing specialists, the Somerset team combines local, regionally based support with the technical depth, engineering capability and delivery infrastructure of the wider IQ Glass group. Our work focuses on high-performance, minimally framed and structural glazing designs that support ambitious architecture while meeting demanding technical requirements.
 
Architects, designers and contractors regularly engage with the Somerset team at an early project stage. This early involvement allows us to advise on feasibility, system selection and technical strategy prior to planning, ensuring glazing design is fully integrated into the overall architecture from the outset.

Who We Are

IQ Glass Somerset represents IQ Glass’s established presence across the South West of the UK. Based in Taunton, the office was created to provide a dedicated local service for clients and project teams working across the region, while remaining fully integrated with IQ Glass’s central design, engineering, project management and aftercare teams.
Our regional team understands the specific planning, environmental and logistical considerations often associated with South West projects and works closely with architects and contractors to deliver complex glazing packages with clarity and consistency.

Company History

The Somerset regional office was established in 2020 in response to increasing demand for glazing installations across Cornwall and the South West, where projects could not be efficiently supported from IQ Glass’s headquarters in Amersham.
Since its creation, a dedicated local team has been developed with a strong understanding of regional project requirements. The office now acts as a key South West hub, supporting architect-led residential projects with close collaboration, technical reliability and high-quality delivery.

How Our Service Works

Architects or specifiers typically contact the Somerset team at an early project stage, often before planning submission. At this point, we advise on feasibility, discuss performance and aesthetic requirements and provide early-stage budgets to support cost planning.
Once planning is approved, we work closely with the design team to ensure that the building structure and technical design are fully coordinated with the intended glazing details. Following contractor appointment, IQ Glass is appointed as a specialist subcontractor to design, supply and install the glazing package, with ongoing technical and project management support throughout delivery.
