The glass was a key component of this highly glazed house extension in Chorleywood, Buckinghamshire. The family home needed more space, needed more light and a better connection to the garden.
By utilising specialist glazing within the extension the homeowners were able to achieve all their goals.
Two sets of minimal windows® sliding doors were used to the rear within the staggered wall.
With their slim aluminium frames, the sliding doors offered great views out onto the garden, maximum light in and the flush threshold meant the transition from inside to out was seamless.
Internally the fixed aluminium outer frames of the slim framed patio doors were hidden by the plasterboard. Outside the house, the extension had a brick external finish. Here the aluminium frames were finished neatly against the light brickwork, creating an interesting contrast in colour and texture around each aperture.
