Wall House

A contemporary new build using modern specialist frame-less glazing

A traditional Victorian Garden wall hides the majority of this contemporary new build from view. The modern family home had to be designed around the existing Victorian wall which was restored during construction. Modern Aluminium Windows were installed in this modern family home.

Linking the new home to the brick wall is a frameless, transparent glass link – a key part of the planning permission.

The frameless panels of structural glass connect to the brick wall and create a transparent glass link between the new build and old wall. At the entrance way, this structural glass link is extended further to create a double height glass atrium using frameless glass beams and a glass roof to complete the enclosure.

The result is an open, bright entrance way and the glass balustrades up the stairs and to the landing allow this large amount of natural light to penetrate further into the large home.

A sprawling landscape of countryside creates a magnificent view from the rear of the house. To maximise this, each rear room was designed with large opening windows framing views of nature. IQ’s oversized Aluminium Windows these elements could be as large as possible with auto opening vents in some openings.

To the ground floor, the living area and kitchen dinner used IQ’s slim framed sliding glass doors. With slim framing and flush base details, these sliding patio doors create an impressive link between the inside of the home and the large and attractive gardens.
