How to Improve Natural Light in Narrow Properties
". IQ designed and installed all specialists fixed glazing works to the new build"

IQ Glass UK are featured in this month’s Build It Magazine for our glazing works at 134 Park Road. IQ designed and installed all specialist fixed glazing works to the new build.

The property was an ambitious idea by the owners who demolished the outdated and undesirable bungalow to be replaced with a new, eco-friendly, 5 bedroom, 3 storey detached house.

Situated on the corner of Lawford Road and Park Road, the design was intended to complement the neighbouring 1920’s properties on Park Road from the front with traditionally shaped bay windows, whilst the rear of the property was able to be slightly different with wooden cladding on the external solid faces.

At the face of the contemporary home IQ designed and installed the frameless, structural glass bay windows to the front of the property which were designed to mirror the look of the surrounding property fronts along Park Road. Using angle fixings and our specialist minimal detailing all of these elements were finished as frameless to create a minimal, contemporary effect to the glazing in this traditional format.

To the rear glass wrapped around the corner of the rear extruding elevation with a glass to glass junction. The glass panels were ‘stepped’ over each other to create a flush external look. Further into the property IQ Glass installed a fixed frameless rooflight to bring natural light into the interior spaces and a structural rooflight to the rear garden space, allowing light into the basement spaces below.
