The development of Sky House took years of careful planning, designing, and hard work to become how it looked when we first moved in. Before IQ Glass set out to redevelop the building it was an abandoned warehouse seeking a lot of TLC. There was an abundance of structural challenges to overcome, including repairs to the leaky roof and a whole redesign of the internal floor plan to make space for the showroom design and the IQ Glass offices.
Here are a few 'before and 'after' photographs to showcase how some of the spaces were completely redesigned and rejuvenated.
The IQ Glass Box Extension that now houses the entrance to Sky House, the reception area, and the IQ Glass Office was once an unsightly space filled with abandoned outbuildings and disused building materials:

The Schuco meeting room complete with aluminium pressings was previously a brick extension to the existing building, surrounded by corrugated metal panels. This was demolished and rebuilt to create a luxury space flooded with natural daylight.

Before the refurbishment of the IQ Outdoor Living show space, the area was filled with overgrown plants and full of clutter. The team at IQ stripped out this space (including the large water tank at the back) and transformed this space into a serene outdoor living area to showcase the aluminium louvre roof structures.

The Mondrian® External Box was built beside the wire fence that protects the train tracks beside Sky House from trespassers. This fence was coated in bamboo privacy panels to provide a beautiful finish to the fencing. The Mondrian® External Box is manufactured from thermally broken steel framed systems that are finished in a Corten effect.

One of our most popular products is the minimal windows sliding door system which has been extremely popular since before moving to Sky House. We installed a dedicated minimal windows show space in the courtyard of the building which was previously filled with an outbuilding that had become rusted and unstable. The IQ Glass team demolished the outbuilding and cleared the courtyard ready to construct the elegant minimal windows box that still stands there today.

As you can see the transformation of Sky House took a large amount of time, energy and commitment. The success of the project is all thanks to our design, installation and contracts team members who oversaw the project.
