Oversized glazing advice was featured in the article, exploring how architectural glazing has modernised traditional windows and doors.

IQ Glass were recently featured in The Sunday Times, discussing how glazing has evolved and now plays a huge part in modern architecture. The communications Director of IQ, Rebecca Clayton said “everyone has bifold doors, so now we get asked for glass walls that rise up”. Referring to the vertical sash windows that are often specified in double and triple height configurations, the traditional sash window has had a modern makeover.

Vertical sash windows are a perfect example of how heritage glazing can be completely modernised, using high-quality aluminium profiles and minimal designs. As architecture has evolved, architects are looking for new and innovative glazing solutions. The beauty of the IQ Glass systems is that they are all manufactured on a completely bespoke basis, including the oversized vertical sash windows which are designed on a project by project basis to meet specific project requirements.

When you specify vertical sash windows, two and three pane configurations can be achieved, with the bottom or top pane sliding up and down effortlessly. The systems can be fully automated to accommodate the weight of the panes and enhance the functionality, whilst the flush threshold even makes the tracks suitable for driving over.
