Stonewood Design’s Cornish Museum Wins 2025 Building Beauty Awards

IQ Glass is delighted to announce that the Emily museum designed by Stonewood has won this year's Building Beauty Awards.

This prestigious glazing project located in the village of St Ives, Cornwall is a lovingly reimagined tribute to the campaigner Emily Hobhouse telling her story from her early life in Cornwall to her campaigning during the Boer War.

The Judges at the Building Beauty Awards praised the powerful message about what modern architecture can and should do when working with a historical site. Stonewood Design demonstrates that sensitive restoration and new builds can coexist.

IQ Glass played a key part in the prestigious glazing project, supplying and installing the Sieger casement windows and slim pivot doors which helped transform the museum into a luminous, contemplative space.

Within the museum the Sieger casement windows and slim pivot door helped choreograph the visitor experience. Abundant daylight floods the interior galleries, enhancing material textures and bringing a sense of openness even to more intimate exhibition zones.

We congratulate Stonewood Design and all involved on this remarkable project.
