IQ Glass Solutions LTD, Sky House, Raans Road, Amersham, HP6 6FT
IQ Glass is delighted to announce that Rhodes House, featuring our bespoke oversized structural glass pavilion, has been shortlisted for the prestigious RIBA Reinvention Award 2025.
Designed by Stanton Williams for the Rhodes Trust at the University of Oxford, the transformation modernises and extends the 100-year-old Grade II-listed Arts and Crafts building, doubling its usable space and creating a vibrant convening centre for scholars and the public.
IQ Glass engineered and installed 13 tonnes of low-iron, solar-control structural glass, including 5 m-tall panels with SGP interlayers to support the curved timber roof of the new 360° garden pavilion. Working within the constraints of the historic site, specialist crane operations were used to position each oversized unit without disturbing protected trees, while custom bronze-finished detailing and an automated bi-parting entrance seamlessly connect modern innovation with heritage character.

The RIBA Reinvention Award recognises exceptional reuse of buildings that improves environmental, social, or economic sustainability. Winners will be announced at the Stirling Prize ceremony on 16 October 2025.
We congratulate Stanton Williams and all involved on this remarkable achievement.
