NHBC Pride in the Job Award 2020

Signal House Featured

Jake Flower of the IQ Glass regional team has been awarded an NHBC Pride in the Job Award for his invaluable support provided to the site team for the Signal House, Station House, Hampsthwaite project, constructed by Wharfdale Homes in North Yorkshire. The site manager of this project, Graham Oldfield won the Pride in the Job Quality Award who supervised Jake Flower’s work on-site.

The Pride in the Job Award is the highest regarded competition within the construction industry, one which all site managers aim to achieve. Site managers are automatically entered into these awards on projects that are registered for NHBC warranty. NHBC is the UK’s leading independent standard-setting body who provides warranties and insurance for new build homes. NHBC strives to enhance the standards of new build homes and provide protection to homeowners, in the form of a Buildmark warranty and insurance.

The NHBC Pride in the Job Award is a fully inclusive representation of the UK house-building industry. The award competition is divided into four categories: small (1-50 new homes built per year with an NHBC warranty), medium (51-1000 new homes built per year with an NHBC warranty), multi-storey (5+ storey projects with NHBC cover) and large (1000+ new homes with NHBC warranty cover each year).

Within the NHBC Pride in the Job Award, there are 4 different awards. Initially, 400-450 site managers are announced for an NHBC Pride in the Job Quality Award. Then in the Autumn Seal of Excellence Awards winners are announced for each region chosen from winners of the Quality Award. Then from the Seal of Excellence Award winners, Regional Award winners are chosen, then from the pool of Regional Award winners the Supreme Award winners are announced. The Supreme Award is classed as the overall national winner in each of the four award categories.
