Bespoke, shaped structural glazing was installed above the sliding door to create an impressive double height glass façade for the master bedroom. The shaped gable end window design was created using a slim aluminium frame, powder coated to the same finish as the sliding doors below and the supporting steel.
The private balcony on the first floor is encompassed by a large overhang from the angular roof design, which has been clad in timber on both the internal and external faces. The timber roof overhang provides solar shading to the highly glazed areas whilst combining aluminium and wood to create a contrast.
To complete the architectural glazing package, we created a series of bespoke aluminium window installations. These modern window openings were created using our Sieger® aluminium window system.
The thermally broken aluminium profiles are very slim and in keeping with the design of the rest of the glazing on the project. The combination of timber and architectural glazing on the ground floor was achieved using both vertical and horizontal timber elements, even including timber louvres for additional built in solar shading.
The resulting project has an extremely contemporary design, using a mixture of timber cladding and aluminium framed glazing to create a truly unique architectural design.
