Aluminium Windows and Sliding Doors for Symmetrical Architecture

IQ worked on two adjacent new build residential properties in Hampstead, London, installing slim framed aluminium sliding doors and aluminium casement windows to create symmetrical homes.

Throughout both new builds, four sets of minimal windows were installed with a number of aluminium windows to enhance the natural light ingress into the properties.

Other glazing products were installed including glass balustradingframeless rooflights and floor lights with a sandblasted finish.

Hampstead, London

minimal windows were installed onto the ground floor and basement, leading out onto the garden.

Installing slim framed aluminium sliding doors onto these properties provides the homeowners with easy access to their terrace and garden areas to relax and enjoy the weather.

These two pane sliding glass doors allow the necessary amount of access between the internal and external spaces whilst creating stunning views of the outdoors when opened or closed.

IQ’s integrated drainage system was installed to prevent flooding and water damage to the building.

This is part of the flush base, creating step-free access between the spaces perfect for children running between the spaces or for wheelchair access.

These doors were installed onto the kitchen and living room where an indoor-outdoor living space has been created, allowing both spaces to be used for meals and entertainment.

The aluminium casement windows were installed onto the front and rear of the homes as top hung, side hung and tilt and turn windows.

Different configurations were used to provide the homeowners with the easiest solutions for letting fresh air into the property. By installing slim aluminium framed windows, a uniform design has been created with contemporary additions to the modern brick properties.

A slim aluminium side hung window was integrated into the bathroom design to provide ventilation to the area. This aluminium window has a sandblasted finishfor the required privacy whilst still allowing as much natural light into the space throughout the day as possible.

Two frameless effect rooflights and four manual opening rooflights were installed onto the properties for additional light in the upper-level rooms within the home where windows could not be installed.

Installing manual opening rooflights maintains the ventilation going into the rooms on higher levels. By installing frameless effect rooflights, the sky views are not reduced by framing.

Four frameless effect fixed walk on floor lights were installed onto the terrace to allow natural light to pass through into the kitchen/dining areas.

These floor lights have a sandblasted finish to allow for privacy from the terrace above whilst still allowing the natural light to pass through. By sandblasting the glass an anti-slip surface is created, preventing any possible injuries.

Frameless glass balustrades were integrated into the terrace design to form a safety barrier for those using the space. Using frameless structural glazing reduces the need for a frame support, therefore preventing any obstruction to views and lighting.
