Location

South West

The owners of this property wanted to embark on a self-build journey and create a home full of light, taking in the views in which the property stands. Using natural materials throughout and integrating frameless glazing creates its own “wow” factor. This unique haven was achieved with the assistance of Create Design South West, as the architectural designer and IQ South West team as the glazing designer.

This contemporary self build showcases the importance of thoughtful glazing specification.  The structural glass facade within the glu lam frame was created using the Invisio Structural Glazing, which focuses on maximising light creating a seamless indoor/outdoor connection.

At the base of the glass facade we integrated slim framed sliding door system which wraps around the elevation. These sliding glass doors, aligned perfectly with the project's emphasis on transparency, natural light, and a seamless connection between the indoor and outdoor spaces. The windows not only provided breathtaking views and natural light but also ensured energy efficiency, durability, and security for the home.

Incorporating these advanced glazing systems has not only contributed to the overall sustainability of Hayle House but also elevated its design, ensuring that it meets the highest standards of energy efficiency and environmental responsibility while maintaining its connection to the natural landscape of Hayle.

Sieger Casement Windows served both functional and aesthetic purposes, with the slimline design, thermal efficiency ensured the house’s energy efficiency needs while contributing to the sleek modern look of the building.

The glass facade with timber frame, represents a perfect fusion of modern architectural design and traditional materials. By combining expansive glass panels with the natural warmth of wood, IQ Glass has created a timber and glass facade that feels both contemporary and timeless, connected to the landscape and history of the site.

At the base, the sliding doors wrap around these elevations creating a U shape sliding door configuration. The corner connection of the sliding door system were designed as a frameless to match the frameless glass facade above.

Hayle House glass facade with timber frame is a great example of a sensitive rural building which maximises light and views. This is evidenced by the projects shortlisting in The Cornish Building Awards! This recognition celebrates the outstanding architectural design and sustainable construction that have made Hayle House a standout in the community.
