The traditional brick house is complemented with a contemporary glass extension to increase the internal living spaces, creating an open plan floor layout. Structural glass was used to create the bespoke shape as well as flooding the living spaces with natural light. The space becomes much more inviting with a bright, light-filled addition to the home.
Bespoke aluminium doors in a traditional double configuration, open up the minimal modern extension. In addition a slim bespoke aluminium casement door was designed and installed to provide primary access through the opening to the garden. It was imperative to have a slim profile door in order to make best use of the space.
The renovation also featured a structural glass bridge with frameless glass balustrades to enables modern patio doors to open up onto the garden whilst maximising natural light to the basement below. The walk on glass used an anti-slip resistance for added grip when the glass bridge gets wet.
Additionally, the upper floor uses frameless glass balustrading to the large balcony with sandblasted sides for added privacy, whilst maintaining the natural light in the master bedroom.
The bespoke aluminium casement doors and window to the contemporary glass box extension has been finished in a stainless steel effect RAL colour for a unique design. Whilst the structural glass roof uses glass beams to support it for an overall minimalistic design finish.
