London Extension using Mondrian® Glazing

IQ Glass designed and installed our Mondrian® Glazing system to this modern extension in London.

Industrial designs such as this are very popular at the moment and our range of steel and steel look windows and doors are the perfect solutions.

Using traditional steel frames with a full thermal break the Mondrian® Doors used offer a slim, beautiful appearance to the design but maintain modern performance standards. The use of large elevations of glass to the rear of the home allows natural light into the home whilst the bespoke glazing bar design creates the character and an industrial design.

Thanks to the use of steel framing, complex window and door configurations could be created, including an opening door with a slanted head and openings with both windows and doors included.

Internally, Mondrian® Internal Glazing has been used to maintain the same industrial design to all the glass. The steel frames were powder coated black, creating an art deco aesthetic to the interior design.

The use of internal glass doors also allows natural light to pass between the dining area and corridor enhancing the style and charm of this gorgeous modern home design. The homeowners choice to use Mondrian® Windows on the project was stemmed from the wish for an art deco, industrial aesthetic to the renovation.

Frameless rooflights were installed within the roof of the extension to achieve maximum light exposure in the kitchen. These were positioned above the Mondrian® External Doors. 

Now what used to be a dark and dull space is now transformed into a light colourful modern living environment.
