Artisan Brass sliding Doors

These specialist brass sliding doors are part of our Mondrian range, providing high specification glazing options to projects with specialist metal framing.  

Bronze offers a luxurious and artisan finish to your sliding door frame. These brass sliding doors from IQ combine the beauty of brass metal framing with high performance within a system that is fully tested and certified for architectural designs.  

The bronze door frames have an integrated thermal break within both the sliding sash and the fixed frame. When paired with high specification glass, the overall bronze sliding door has exceptional levels of insulation, suitable for even the most ambitious eco house design.  

The architectural bronze windows and doors will need to be waxed. This will ensure the bronze architectural finish of your new glazing won’t age too quickly. 

 

 

 

Lift and Slide Bronze Doors

These bronze sliding doors are available in a lift and slide configuration which provides you with the highest levels of water and air tightness. The vertical junction between the sliding bronze frames is just 47mm, offering minimal sightlines within a brass sliding door.  

All mechanisms are only of the highest quality, using stainless steel hidden wheels and bearings for a smooth lift and sliding action to the bronze doors.

Our elegant brass door handles for the lift and slide brass door system are ergonomically engineered to with a 280mm length handle which offers easy leverage and smooth opening of the lift and slide panels.  Available in a cylinder truncated handle with a Yale cylinder or without Yale cylinder with external grip and reduced plates. 

 

 

Brass Sliding Doors at the Showroom  

The Mondrian burnished brass lift and slide door installed at our showroom is double glazed with 8mm toughened Low E+ glass with one fixed and one lift and slide panes. 

Each sash width is 1605mm at a frame height of 2745mm.

What is Architectural Bronze?

  • The modern alloy of architectural bronze is made up from copper, zinc and other additional metals that form the material. Architectural bronze is also known as brass and when used in architecture both refer to the same material.  
  • The zinc element of bronze framing offers high levels of strength and durability to the special metal. Bronze and brass have been used for years within the marine environment on ships so has showcased history in highly exposed locations. With bronze architectural glazing, you can benefit from a life expectations and enhanced protection.  
  • Bronze patinates and darkens over time under exposure from light and moisture. Oils on human skin can also change the appearance of bronze frames creating an aged appearance.

The patination process achieved from architectural bronze creates a stunning aged appearance that will add character to your architectural design. The aesthetic of bronze framing for sliding doors will differ slightly depending on your location and the exposure of the frame.
