Located in central London, just up the road from Kings Cross Station, Located in central London, just up the road from Kings Cross Station, IQ Glass undertook a glazing project to this renovated commercial building. Set in the very heart of the capital the building is on the corner of two busy throughways into London. This former warehouse building undertook a comprehensive and modern refurbishment by Pelican Building Contractors, designed by HUT Architecture.

IQ Glass were instructed to design, engineer and install the faceted rain screen cladding and internal windows to the very upper floor.

The external faces were clad with over 100m2 of highly reflective glazing finished in a classic grey hue that wraps around the entire top floor façade. The multiple glass panes are fixed with silicone joined vertical joints backed with rubber supports fixed to the original building.

These reflective surfaces reflect all surrounding buildings and environments making the upper floor almost disappear into the London skylines. The faceted screen also incorporated the best of glass technology with a Solar Control coating applied; this reduces the amount of Solar Gain into the commercial office spaces, ensuring that the space does not heat up astronomically when the sun is out and reduces air conditioning bills.

This glass finish is what is known as ‘one-way’ to ensure that the internal views over London are not lost. Internally, IQ Glass installed a number of Aluminium Casement Windows of varying sizes around the top floor space allowing the stylish floor to benefit from excellent natural light and boast stunning views towards the city and west end.

As always attention to detail is key and this project benefited from IQ’s experience and design knowledge in ensuring the finished project was on the highest standard down to the last joint.
