IQ were recently featured in Real Homes ‘10 glass box extension ideas to bring in light to a modern or traditional home’ article, showing a frameless glass link in a barn conversion project and a glass box extension to a listed home.
A frameless glass link is just one way to add a glass box extension, commonly used to bridge the gap between buildings and create a thermally insulated passage. We used bespoke shaped glazing for this project, maintaining the most minimal design whilst injecting a touch of modernism into the traditional converted building. Glass links can be any size due to to the nature of structural glass, making these frameless solutions suited to a wide range of projects, whether big or small, traditional or modern.
The second featured image is our Yew Tree House project, illustrating the benefits of adding a contemporary glass box extension to a traditional home. The listed building retained the exterior brick wall, encompassing it within the structural glass to create a modern dining room.
There are a number of ways to incorporate a glass extension into your design, including glass links and glass boxes, to push architectural boundaries and create your perfect space. Head here to read the full article and get some extension inspiration.
