IQ were recently featured in Real Homes ‘10 glass box extension ideas to bring in light to a modern or traditional home’ article, showing a frameless glass link in a barn conversion project and a glass box extension to a listed home.
A frameless glass link is just one way to add a glass box extension, commonly used to bridge the gap between buildings and create a thermally insulated passage. We used bespoke shaped glazing for this project, maintaining the most minimal design whilst injecting a touch of modernism into the traditional converted building. Glass links can be any size due to to the nature of structural glass, making these frameless solutions suited to a wide range of projects, whether big or small, traditional or modern.
The second featured image is our Yew Tree House project, illustrating the benefits of adding a contemporary glass box extension to a traditional home. The listed building retained the exterior brick wall, encompassing it within the structural glass to create a modern dining room.
