steel glazing with green frames in London home extension

Steel framed glazing was used to introduce colour to the traditional terraced home.

This contemporary extension and renovation in London utilised slim framed steel framed glazing to forge a bond to the garden space. Introducing colour through the use of green steel frames, the double opening door was complete with a kickplate that acted as a colour block for the green palette.

The article, published in the June 2022 edition, explored how to get the exterior design right when planning a home renovation or extension, including material choices, planning permission and finishing options. IQ worked closely with Sinclair Studios on the Netherford Road project, providing the coloured glazing solutions to help them create a greenhouse-inspired home.

A green theme ran through the extension design which can be seen throughout the interior design as well as the glazing choices. Roof glazing was included in the project to introduce natural light into the open plan dining space, with slim steel sections used between panes of a structural glass roof.
