Rear extensions are an extremely popular choice for homes looking to enhance their existing space or expand the useable space within a property. There is a wide range of extension options available to choose from and Livingetc have written a guide to help you find the right rear extension for you.
Contemporary extensions will increase the value of a home and any architect or designer should consider how the new space will be used, to determine the best materials. Glass box extensions are ideal for single storey rear extensions as they help to merge indoor and outdoor areas and increase the perceived size of a space.
When specifying glass extensions there is a variety of design choices, including steel framed extensions, which has been shown in the article using our Gatsby House project and is perfect for more traditional exterior designs.
Opening corners were also featured in the article, illustrated by our Malbrook Road project which uses slim framed sliding doors in a pocket door configuration to create a floating corner effect. The oversized glass doors are proof that glazing is an integral part of any rear extension project, with a wide variety of options to choose from.
