IQ Glass Featured in Self Build & Design

IQ Glass were featured in the November 2019 issue of Self Build & Design. On the topic of fenestration, the feature looks at how the Mill Hill London project incorporated interior and exterior glazing.

Mill Hill London was pictured from multiple view points and talks about the combination of a copper-clad glazed extension with the existing brick work of the London family home. “The copper façade will mellow over time, as it is exposed to the elements. This aspect of the design by Andris Berzins & Associates defines the new and old areas and blends with the existing brickwork”. The case study explored how copper cladding paired with specialist glazing creates unique home extensions.

The project included installation of an internal Mondrian system, creating a divide between the kitchen and the open plan living/dining area. The system was designed with two fixed screens on either side of the steel double doors. Minimal window systems surround two entire sides of the extension, creating uninterrupted views of the new terrace area. The minimal windows sliding door system means that the family can enjoy open access to the terrace from their dining area.
