The modern industrial design includes a number of slim framed steel systems throughout the interior and exterior design
The July issue of iBuild featured a 4 page spread on our Artist Studio project, exploring how the steel-framed glazing systems modernised the property whilst retaining the original and historical character.
IQ Glass was thrilled to be involved in the extensive renovation project, understanding the complexity of the project and engineering bespoke glazing solutions to suit the specific needs of the property. Working with Rodic Davidson Architects, steel-framed glazing systems were selected for a more traditional approach. Both external and internal glazing systems were used for a coherent finish throughout, with fixed frameless elements allowing the light and views to pass through the internal living spaces.
Glazing bars were incorporated into the design for many of the steel window and door systems, for a modern industrial design. Walk-on floor lights and structural glass roof elements helped to flood the space with natural light, preserving the double-height living space and introducing natural light into the new basement floor. All glazing systems used externally were fully thermally broken, to ensure the highly glazed design was functional and comfortable as well as beautiful.
