Design Buy Build Features Old Quay

This riverside home was featured in the latest edition of the home design magazine.

Design Buy Build featured one of IQ Glass’ projects in their 53^rd issue, under the category of doors, windows & fittings. The feature explored how oversized sliding glass doors opened up the modern new build to maximise the stunning surrounding area.

minimal windows sliding door systems were specified for this project in an opening corner configuration with triple glazing. The triple glazed glass specification was used to combat the cold sea winds, delivering high thermal performances for a well insulated home. The frames of the aluminium systems were finished to a marine grade standard, to ensure suitability for the waterfront location.

A range of other glazing systems were used to forge a strong connection with the surrounding nature, including frameless picture windows that offer completely unobstructed views of the water. The new build is based in an area of outstanding beauty, meaning particular attention had to be paid to maintain the surrounding environment and ensure the building didn’t have too much of a visual impact.
