The July issue of Build It magazine featured one of our projects as their cover shot, as well as including a full case study about the project and specifying our ARES rooflight system in their guide to roof lights. The project used slim framed steel systems to transform a 1920’s family home, adding an annex in the garden space to expand their useable space.

Steel glazing systems were chosen to maintain a more traditional design, with glazing bars incorporated into the design. The rear façade features a double set of steel doors, with window systems in the same design for a coherent finish. The annex building was constructed using a warm, wood cladding, which creates a beautiful contrast against the black steel frames.

When the double doors are open, the flush threshold allows the family to forge a strong connection with the outside environment. The slim steel frames allow an abundance of natural light to flood the internal living spaces, creating a light and airy interior design.

Elsewhere in the magazine, the ARES rooflight was featured as being a thermally broken rooflight solution that automatically adds ventilation to the area below. The modern venting system utilises the latest glazing technologies to create highly ventilated areas whilst maintaining an extremely minimal design.
