For a precision-engineered extension to a private residence in Worcester, IQ Glass was brought on to provide a complete architectural glazing solution. Every element of the glazing package was finished in RAL 7016 Matt, ensuring visual consistency across the extension’s clean lines and sharp junctions. The entire installation was engineered to withstand a wind load of 0.65kN/m², delivering long-term structural integrity without compromising the minimal aesthetic.
At the core of the design was IQ’s market-leading minimal windows® system, offering 21mm vertical sightlines and exceptional thermal performance. A one-track sliding door, measuring 2600mm wide by 3200mm high, was installed as a key interface between interior and exterior. This large-format glazed element maintains a U-value of 1.4 W/m²K, meeting the thermal requirements of modern residential builds while enhancing the project’s architectural intent.
Forming a clean glazed return, a fixed minimal framed glazing in Worcester pane was installed adjacent to the slider, mirroring its dimensions at 2600mm by 3200mm. This fixed element provides a U-value of 1.2 W/m²K and weighs approximately 310kg, requiring advanced handling and installation techniques due to the scale and performance specification.

Complementary minimal framed glazing in Worcester was also integrated throughout the secondary elevations via a series of bespoke aluminium window systems from the Sieger® range. These included a 1200mm by 300mm fixed window unit, offering a U-value of 1.3 W/m²K, which acts as a discreet ribbon window for daylight penetration while preserving the minimal architectural character.
In the home office space, a tilt-and-turn aluminium window, sized at 1200mm wide by 2400mm high, was installed to meet ventilation and access requirements. Framed in a slim 70mm aluminium profile, the window delivers full-height operability with a U-value of 1.4 W/m²K, seamlessly aligning with the rest of the minimal framed glazing in Worcester across the extension.
