Towersey Shortlisted for House & Garden x Savills Project of the Year 2026

Towersey Awards Post

We are delighted to see Towersey shortlisted for the House & Garden x Savills Project of the Year 2026, recognising the architectural quality and sensitive design of this contemporary new build in the Chilterns.

Designed by Richard Parr Associates, the house was conceived as a place of retreat within its rural setting. Four connected volumes are arranged across two wings, with a low architectural profile and a material palette influenced by the surrounding agricultural buildings.

IQ Glass worked on the architectural glazing throughout the project, helping to create the close connection between the interiors and the surrounding Chiltern landscape.

Architectural glazing at Towersey

Large areas of glazing were central to the architectural approach. IQ Glass supplied slim framed sliding glass doors, frameless structural glazing, glass walls and aluminium casement doors and windows across the property.

Within the central glazed link and other key areas of the house, slim sliding glass doors with 21mm sightlines create floor-to-ceiling glazed openings. The frames were carefully recessed into the surrounding brickwork to reduce the amount of visible aluminium and maintain the clean architectural detailing.

Elsewhere, large frameless windows were positioned to capture selected views across the landscape. The structural glass fixings were coordinated with the building construction so they could be concealed within the charred timber walls.

The resulting glazing strategy complements the restrained palette of brick, blackened timber and dark metalwork while bringing daylight deep into the house and maintaining strong visual connections with the countryside.
