Shards Passivhaus selected for Sussex Heritage Trust Awards

Shards new build celebrated Sussex Project

The Shards eco new build designed by Morgan Carn Architects, has been recognised as an exemplary Paragraph 80 dwelling, submitted for the Sussex Heritage Trust Awards.

The Sussex Heritage Trust Awards is in its fourth decade and is highly regarded as the most visible endorsement of one of the Trust’s main objectives, to preserve the quality and vernacular of Sussex architecture, whilst also embracing innovative new design that would be the bedrock for future generations to enjoy and appreciate.

Shards, dubbed as the James Bond 'villainesque' was built on a former quarry site and references of 'shard-like' glass are manifested within the structural glazing elements of this remarkable new build which includes a gravity-defying 400kg Invisio frameless effect glass shard to the centre of the property on the first floor reaching 4m high and is ‘Le piece de resistance’.
