Catslide House, Mill Hide, and Clayworth Cottage recognised as one of the shining lights of architectural excellence in the UK
Catslide House by Graeme Williamson Architects references the 1970’s period of closeby houses with uses our minimal windows sliding glass doors with its monolithic chimney stack, pitched catslide roof, brickwork and architectural glass with minimal sightlines. The minimal windows sliding glass doors with flush thresholds open smoothly connecting with the beautiful outdoor space in the leafy County of Buckinghamshire.
Mill Hide, by Poulson Architecture is a sculptural Paragraph 79 country house in Cambridgeshire. Inspired by Palladio’s Villa Rotunda containing dwelling and piazza and ancillary spaces housing an array of photo voltaics and ground source heat pumps in a rectangular perimeter enclosure measuring 42 metres by 22 metres with the central court in the dwelling flooded with natural light by a bespoke MARS oversized sliding glass rooflight within its rectangular courtyard orientated to Cardinal points of the compass allowing sunlight to fall on all four elevations through the diurnal rhythm.
Clayworth Cottage by Arkle Boyce London is merited for its accessible design with wide automated minimal windows sliding glass doors with ultra flush thresholds for wheelchair users. As seen on Grand Designs TV, this 4,500 sq ft new build in Dunstable has permeable glass doors and slot windows throughout allowing its occupants to access every space without a challenge.
All three projects are all outstanding projects worthy of a RIBA East Award!
