IQ Glass is pleased to announce that Rhodes House, featuring our bespoke structural glass pavilion, has won the prestigious RIBA South Award 2025. This transformative project at Oxford University doubled the usable space and significantly enhanced the building’s environmental performance.
IQ Glass provided the structural glass pavilion, featuring oversized glass panels up to 5 metres tall, which seamlessly integrates with the Grade II*-listed Arts & Crafts building. These glazing elements preserve views of the mature gardens while supporting the pavilion’s distinctive curved timber roof. The use of low-iron glass with advanced solar control coatings ensures thermal comfort, aligning with the project’s high sustainability standards.
The RIBA jury highlighted the project’s sensitive interventions, improved sustainability, and successful integration of new structures into the historic context of Rhodes House.
