Plas Glyn-y-Weddw Arts Centre Cafe, Pwlheli, a remarkable blend of architectural innovation and cultural heritage, designed by Mark Wray Architects has been shortlisted for the esteemed Stephen Lawrence Prize 2024.

This nomination recognised the project's outstanding architectural contributions honouring its commitment to sustainability, community engagement, and the preservation of historical significance.

Located in the picturesque countryside of North Wales, Plas Glyn is a restoration and modernisation project of a 19th-century Grad II manor house. The project was undertaken Mark Wray Architects and conservationists, who aimed to preserve the site's historical essence while introducing modern and eco-friendly features.

IQ Glass were thrilled to provide the glazing for this project, with floor to ceiling slim framed sliding glass doors for seamless access and structural glass, to create an illusion that the glazing had been cut to the shape of the circular openings, whilst visitors enjoy the views of the rural setting.
