Bank Barn shortlisted for RIBA North West Award 2026

IQ Glass are pleased to share that Bank Barn, designed by Gargain Studio has been shortlisted for the RIBA North West Award 2026.

Bank Barn is  a Grade II listed building featuring a bespoke glazing package that introduces modern performance standards, without compromising the historic character of the building.

Set within the rolling topography of the North West, Bank Barn began as a derelict stone structure embedded into the hillside. Gargain Studio’s vision was to retain the barn’s agricultural character while introducing a contemporary layer that would open the building to light, views, and year round use.

IQ Glass contributed to this award nominated project by providing the large glazing package of two triple glazed sliding doors , frameless windows and casement doors. The glazing transforms the barns spatial character, what was once an enclosed building now feels expansive and connected to its setting.

Congratulations to everyone involved in delivering this transformation to this Grade II listed building. Looking to transform your space? Contact us now
