A contemporary renovation, using minimally framed sliding glass doors as well as various elements of our modern architectural glazing such as structural glass floors and frameless glass balustrades to create a large modern balcony.  IQ transformed this dated home in Hampstead, London into a bright, light-filled modern family home.

IQ’s minimally framed sliding glass doors, enhance the internal living environment of the property creating a large open plan living area open to the garden. The contemporary renovation creates a seamless connection between the living and seating areas as well as to the carefully landscaped garden.

The flush base track and head detail provide the idyllic, seamless transition between both inside and outside living areas. The minimal 21mm sightlines allow the sliding glass doors to provide uninterrupted views of the garden.

Frameless glass balustrades and a walk on structural glass floor create a contemporary, minimal glass balcony on the upper floor. The glass floor has a sandblasted finish to provide an anti-slip surface and added privacy to the patio area below.

The slim frame aluminium casement door is used because of the small narrow opening and the thin framing maximises the space. A dark grey RAL colour was chosen for a cohesive design with the rest of the aluminium framing and the pressings and flashings to the glass balcony.
