Architectural Glazing to a Contemporary Renovation

This contemporary renovation, in the heart of Hampstead Village, underwent a complete internal refurbishment to expand the useable space and introduce tonnes of natural light into the internal living spaces. Slim framed sliding doors were included as part of the glazing package, as well as structural glass floors and frameless glass balustrades.

The family home is now flooded with natural light, thanks to the clear frameless nature of structural glazing and slim aluminium frames that our sliding door systems are characterised by. The sliding glass doors help to create a light-filled open-plan space, allowing the homeowners to create one large indoor-outdoor space when the doors are slid open. The contemporary renovation creates a seamless connection between the living and seating areas as well as to the carefully landscaped garden.

The sliding door systems have a completely flush threshold detail, allowing step-free travel between indoor and outdoor environments to create a seamless flow. The slim sightlines of just 21mm grant uninterrupted views of the landscaped garden space, even when the doors are closed.

On the first floor, frameless glass balustrades were specified to act as a safety barrier on the balcony area. A walk on glass floor was constructed using structural glass for a fully glazed finish, in keeping with the highly glazed façade design. The glass floor was specified with a sandblasted finish, to provide an anti-slip surface that adds privacy to the patio area below.

A slim framed aluminium casement door was the perfect choice for the living room, as the opening was narrow and the slim framing maximises the space effectively. The door was finished in a dark grey, for a cohesive design across all the glazing systems, with the pressings and flashings on the balcony area in the same RAL colour.

The contemporary design completely transformed the interior design of the home, whilst retaining the traditional street view in keeping with the neighbouring properties.
