Designed by The Art of Building, this glass extension in Leicester included the design of a highly glazed rear extension to the building as well as improved connections throughout the house.
Managed and installed by the IQ Glass Midlands division, the full glazing package included automated rooflights, slim framed sliding doors, structural glass walls and much more.

Slim framed sliding doors were installed as a part of the glass extension in Leicester, to create an opening to the garden exterior allowing for seamless access with a flush threshold; as well as creating a cohesive connection between the interior and exterior. Three sets of sliding glass doors link to structural glazing applications creating a glass box extension for the Leicester property, allowing for large values of light to naturally flood the interior.
Aluminium Casement Windows was designed to have the smallest sightlines to maximise the amount of natural light coming through to the interior as well as creating cohesion between the slim framed systems on the back elevation. The slim frame casement windows ensure the amount of natural light passing through is maximised.
An opening rooflight system was specified for this glass extension in Leicester to create an abundance of natural light into the interior. The Glassmotion A.R.E.S rooflight was specified to add ventilation into the Leicester glass extension, without compromising on minimal design and modern performance values.
A configuration intermittent fixed rooflights sit in an ingress of the roof to create a lightwell effect to the extension, the rectangular fixed Invisio rooflights allow the natural sunlight to seep into the interior space creating lit spaces when the sun is at its highest.
Each of the rooflights and large elevations of were specified with solar control glass.
