This modern Glass Extension was utilised as a dressing and storage room for the owner’s collection of couture and designer gowns.
Highly thermally performing glass was selected for the structural elements to get enhanced thermal efficiency to control the internal temperatures.
The glass was stepped over the external frame and steel work to give a flush, almost invisible external look.
A glass link was used between the glass box and the existing building. The link used bespoke pivot doors made with slim framed aluminium to allow adhoc access to the area around the glass link.
IQ also designed a series of decorative glass beams internally. These worked on a sliding system and allowed the rows of clothes to be slid out and then away.
The glass beams had LED lights within them also make this element a decorative part of the interior design.
