Panoramic Coastal Views Using Slim Frame Glass Sliding Doors

IQ Glass worked with architects Arco2 on this project where slim frame glass sliding doors are the key design feature to the new build coastal home. The large elevations of minimally framed doors enhance the indoor-outdoor living experience, providing large light-filled open-plan living areas.

Glass sliding doors and structural glass walls allow for the house to have spectacular panoramic coastal views which all primary living spaces face.

The thin frame sliding glass doors installed onto this project are biparting, helping to create an open space between the indoors and outdoors.

These doors also have a flush floor finish, providing easy access to the outdoor living spaces, especially for the children of the family.

The home is fully glazed and floods the interior with light from the west where sunsets become the perfect view. Integrated structural glass walls have been engineered with no frames, providing no obstruction to views. The glass stepped over roof structure creates a sleek all glass finish.

On the pool annexe next to the main house, aluminium bifold doors have been installed. These doors are opened with an open corner to help maximise the views of the beach from the indoor pool area.

Using bifolding doors on this annexe rather than glass sliding doors has maximised the amount of space between the inside and out, whereas the use of glass sliding doors may have obstructed part of the aperture. These doors have been powder coated a dark grey to match the exterior of the building.

Glass balustrades have been installed onto the balcony areas on the top floor to help maintain clear views of the surroundings as well as providing safety to the family.

Handrails and framing have also been installed to provide extra safety with a coloured powder coating to help these glass balustrades blend in with the home due to the colour match.
