An Umbris patio roof was used in this contemporary garden design to provide extra living spaces in the garden. The automated louvre roof sits over the large patio area jointly supported by the building, leg posts and with a louvre wall.
With minimal supporting columns, the large louvre roof provides a contemporary outdoor seating area with an architectural design finish to the property. The Umbris Louvre Roofs can have up to 7m between supporting posts to create these expansive lengths with little interruption in views.
The integrated drainage system of the louvre roof enables the rainwater collected by the aluminium louvres which is drained to the roof profile. The clients here opted for a small water outlet in the roof profile to integrate into the properties drainage system.
Indoor-outdoor living is becoming increasingly popular, the external living space added to this home helps add value to the home with a watertight outside living area increasing the square foot of the property.
The Umbris louvre roof also provides controllable shading to the outdoor living area creating the perfect place to entertain and enjoy all year round, the automated louvres create a watertight roof when closed enabling a useable outdoor kitchen and BBQ area.
Spotlighting was integrated into the Umbris roof profile as an added luxury allowing more use of the outside living space. Additionally, a large louvre wall provides added protection from the wind creating a comfortable living area.
