Sliding Glass Doors create a modern, spacious Extension

The entire rear wall of this large family extension was created with the use of our minimal windows® sliding glass doors. With a 21mm sightline and frameless surrounding finish, the result was a floor to ceiling glazed sliding wall, bringing light and space to the open plan living area.

This rear extension was part of a larger internal remodel and basement extension. This extension space housed the new modern family kitchen within an open plan living room and dining area. The sliding doors effectively connect this internal space to the large rear garden.

North London

With the flush floor finishes across the base of the sliding doors, plus the minimal framing of the doors themselves, the internal and external spaces are connected seamlessly whether the elevation is open or closed. When open the step free, seamless floor finish from inside to outside minimises the division between in and out.

The aluminium framing of the minimal windows® was finished in a light grey powder coat. This colour works well with the light coloured brickwork as well as with the traditional white sash windows above. From the inside, the light finish to the aluminium frames connects with the light internal palette of the contemporary living space.

The sliding glass doors were installed with a fixed glass return, creating the perpendicular wall of glazing to the extension. These glass elements were designed and installed as one cohesive structure complete with a frameless glass to glass corner on the return.
