Small Contemporary Extension with Aluminium Bi Fold Doors

A contemporary extension and renovation features aluminium bi fold doors as well as slim aluminium casement windows and doors. The rear kitchen and living extension of the family home in London completely transforms this traditional London terrace home.

Previously, the rear area of the home consisted of a confined dark living space and a cramped kitchen without dining space. By removing the internal walls, merging the existing room and new rear extension the family now have a large, open plan living area more suited to modern lifestyles.

Aluminium bifold doors work perfectly in this smaller opening, extending the inside living spaces. The three panel bi-fold door installation slides and folds back away opening almost the entire rear aperture.

When closed these aluminium bi-fold doors have a minimal sightline of only 120mm and has been installed with a flush threshold for an easier transition between the internal and external living spaces.

A large fixed aluminium casement window was positioned over the sink taking full advantage of the natural light and garden views. bi-fold a slim aluminium casement door was designed and installed to provide access through a narrow opening to the side and front of the house. It was imperative to have a slim profile door in order to make best use of the space.

Two large frameless glass rooflights carefully fill the open plan living spaces maximising the amount of natural light entering the new contemporary extension. This adds to the natural light the aluminium bi-fold doors achieve.
