IQ's sliding doors torooftop extension in London

IQ's ultra-thin framed sliding glass doors were used as the sole west face of this rooftop extension in London.

The bi-parting sliding doors open onto the surrounding roof terrace offering fantastic views of the surrounding London skyline. Further into the contemporary space fixed structural glazing allows light transmission towards the stairwell with a fixed slot window and rooflight above. You would get natural light coming in through flooding dark areas with light brightening the room with glow and colour.

To match the design and the brown colour the aluminium frames were powder coated with the same RAL colour making it look sophisticated and luxurious. Modern slim framed glass doors save you so much space and maximise the internal living space.

The strip rooflights helps assist with maximising the amount of light in the room. This is a modern luxury addition that makes the room look bigger than it actually is, since the light is coming through the ‘ceiling’ and you’re looking directly at the sky, instead of the ceiling and the floor-to-ceiling Sliding Glass door enhances this.

Due to the slim 21mm, sightlines and the glass façades allows maximum natural light to come in through brightening up the room with colour.

The sliding glass door is a very effective insulator keeping the heat in and takes up far less valuable space for the clients. As the client's request, IQ Glass arranged step-free access with an open wall making the indoor-outdoor living experience even better, providing a fantastic view of the surroundings.
