Slim frame sliding glass door featured on rear renovation

IQ Glass installed slim frame sliding glass doors as part of a small renovation to a period home in Surrey. The traditional home featured contemporary design elements including an open plan living whilst maximising the views.

A three pane sliding glass door takes advantage of the stunning panoramic views of the garden surrounding the property allowing lots more light to enter the space for a modern light filled living space. These types of slim framed doors are great where a modern patio door is required for a contemporary design.

Modern aluminium framing can be the perfect option for traditional building designs such as this one as the minimal framing allows a clear design finish between the traditional brick façade and the glass.

The slim frame sliding glass doors chosen for this project were IQ’s minimal windows system. The modern aluminium framing has only a 21mm vertical frame with a frameless surrounding finish.

The flush floor finish across the modern patio doors keeps the open-plan design flowing all the way through both the internal and external living spaces, creating an impressive architectural design and striking external aesthetics.

Additionally, glass balustrades have been installed to give uninterrupted views of the garden from the inside of the property.

flush threshold drainage system allows the frameless contemporary appearance across the internal floor finishes, creating a smart non-hazardous entrance to and from the living space as well as water protection draining 120 litres of water per minute.

The frameless glass roof light was positioned carefully to allow a steady flow of natural light into the space below, perfectly suited for an internal room.
