Riverside Renovation Project Using Slim Frame Sliding Glass Doors

A major renovation project was completed to this riverside home in Henley-on-Thames using slim frame sliding glass doors. The large elevation of floor-to-ceiling glass takes advantage of the picturesque views out onto the River Thames.

The installation process was somewhat different; the house is only accessible via a small boat as it is located on the other side of the river making it a challenge transporting the large glass panels across. However, the location of the home provides an idyllic tranquil living environment.

IQ’s slim frame sliding glass doors were used as the main focal point of the renovation creating a large elevation of sliding glass doors to the upper living and kitchen areas, giving uninterrupted views of the unspoilt surrounding.

Additionally, these minimally framed sliding doors provide the sole access to the large terrace area, enabling the home to be opened up in the warmer months.

As with all our minimal sliding door installations, the pairing of large glass panels with the extremely slim framing sightlines of 21mm creates an impressive façade of glass, pouring natural light into the open plan living spaces.

Large aluminium picture windows were used in the light-filled living area capturing the views and canal boats passing by. The fixed casement windows are purely incorporated in this design to maximise the views and natural light within the property.

Top-hung aluminium windows have also been used to provide ventilation throughout the property. The slim frames enable more light to penetrate through and keep a cohesive design along with the dark grey powder coated framing used throughout this renovation project.
