This Sussex Beach Home transforms a derelict bungalow into a serene, contemporary sanctuary, where soft, natural tones mirror the surrounding sand and sea.

At its heart, a tranquil courtyard seamlessly connects indoor and outdoor spaces, featuring expansive, marine-grade glazing and slim sliding glass door systems. These doors offer an inviting spot to relax and fully immerse oneself in the stunning coastal environment.

Designed to embrace every aspect of coastal living, the home incorporates opening glass rooflights for ventilation and natural light, frameless glass balustrades, and large, extra-large sliding glass doors. This upside-down Sussex beach house is distinctive in style, with the ground floor featuring slim sliding glass doors and casement windows for the bedrooms. The first floor, however, elevates the design with full extra-large sliding glass doors and frameless glass balustrades that frame a sweeping, panoramic sea views. A cantilevered roof provides protection from direct sunlight, ensuring comfort year-round.

To preserve a sleek, minimalist aesthetic, each window aperture was carefully designed and tucked behind linear brickwork, with internal fixing details that enhance both thermal efficiency and waterproofing. The layout of the living spaces was thoughtfully planned to take full advantage of the expansive marine-grade glazing, maximising natural light and the surrounding views.

On the upper floor, which features a more compact footprint, dual-aspect, extra-large sliding glass doors create a bright and airy atmosphere. Frameless glass balustrades along the south elevation offer unobstructed sea views, further elevating the experience of this stunning beach home.

In the centre, a large ARES glass rooflight floods the space with natural light, promoting ventilative cooling and providing clear, open views of the sky, an ideal environment for embracing creativity and productivity in the dedicated study area.

This beach home perfectly captures the essence of coastal living, blending refined elegance with timeless design. The extra large sliding glass doors seamlessly connect indoor comfort with the breathtaking outdoor scenery.

The slim-framed aluminium casement doors and windows, finished in RAL 7024 matt anthracite grey, provide a clean, modern finish that complements the stone, brickwork, and vertical timber cladding. The exterior is further enhanced by a curved design that mirrors the entrance, tying together the elements with a harmonious flow.

The extra-large sliding glass doors leading to the sheltered courtyard create a striking feature, appearing as a single seamless glass wall. This wall displays artwork illuminated by spotlights, enhancing the exterior ambience and offering a cocooning, comfortable atmosphere.

The result is a spectacular Sussex Beach Home that embraces its coastal setting while maximising natural light and sweeping views. With extra-large sliding glass doors, frameless glass balustrades, carefully crafted casement doors and windows, and an impressive automated ARES glass rooflight, this home epitomises modern coastal living.
