The slide and seal rooflights from IQ are the next generation of automated rooflight designs. These high specification automated rooflights designs include a unique lifting mechanism that allows the sliding rooflight to sink over the roof opening when closed.

This sealing method creates an automated rooflight design with exceptional levels of water tightness, unparalleled by any other sliding rooflight available.

Our slide and seal rooflight mechanisms can hold and move glass units up to 700kg in weight.

Automated Sliding Rooflights

Small and compact motors carry the glass rooflight back and forth along stainless steel tracks to open and close the opening. When closed these motors use an ingenious worm screw mechanism to lower the rooflight over the frame, sealing the rooflight.

The automated slide and seal roof pane can be designed to slide over a flat solid roof structure. We can also design the slide and seal rooflight to slide over a fixed structural glass unit when open for a larger glass roof structure.

With a minimal profile design available in galvanised steel as standard the slide and seal rooflight maximises the roof glazing. You could also opt to have the automated rooflight framed in stainless steel, Corten steel and architectural bronze for a slightly more unique design.
