Wildlife Park Roof Glazing at Highland Park.

On site story at Highland Wildlife Park

The Highland Wildlife Park is based in Kincraig, Scotland and is home to many wild animals that require full time care. The park is constantly being updated and renovated to provide both the animals, staff and visitors the best experience possible.

As part of the substantial renovations, the IQ Projects Birmingham team were commissioned to design and install a vast rooflight. The old barn-style building required some modernisation using a bespoke rooflight designed in a zig-zag style to allow natural light to flood the large internal space.

The unique shape of the roof meant that the frame and glass had to be millimetre perfect to ensure that it fit together and was fully watertight. The complex glazing was installed with a 5 degree fall to allow any rain to slide straight off onto the roof and down into the drainage system.

The highly technical roof light will provide a modern twist to the classical farmyard style and will offer a welcoming place for visitors to eat, relax and take a break from walking around the park.
