Real Homes Features IQ Glass and Sieger Systems

Written by Rebecca Clayton

Holstein glazed extension featured in Real Homes.

Our slim-framed sliding door systems were featured in their sliding door guide.

When Real Homes wrote an article surrounding sliding doors, they came to IQ Glass for expert advice on using glass as the material for minimal sliding systems. With a range of systems available, including those fabricated at our in-house fabrication factory, IQ Glass was able to help advise on the benefits of sliding glass doors.

We advised that sliding glass door systems can be used internally and externally, with a range of design and configuration options arranged to enhance any interior design scheme. Our sliding glass doors have sightlines starting from just 20mm, creating uninterrupted views of the outdoor environment.

The main benefit to sliding glass doors is the amount of natural light that they allow to flow through the home, creating an indoor-outdoor style of living. When indoor-outdoor living is desired, a flush threshold detail is key. The threshold detail can be seen in many of our minimal sliding systems and offers step-free travel to allow indoor and outdoor living spaces to be merged.

Listed buildings can also benefit hugely from sliding glass patio doors, adding modern elements without detracting from the historic charm, thanks to the high glass to frame ratio.
