Refurb & Restore magazine recently featured our Malvern project in issue 28, showcasing how frameless structural glazing can be used to create bespoke shapes. The structural glass wall forms one side of the contemporary extension, filling the gable end and delivering uninterrupted views of the manicured garden.
To maintain the most minimal design, a structural glass fin was specified as the structural support within the large glass wall structure, which is situated next to a modern fireplace. The frameless glass fin helps to create a fully glazed design, complete with a fixed frameless window on the other side of the fireplace.
The article explores how the zinc clad extension creates a contrast against the traditional red brick home, using frameless effect glass rooflight systems and slim framed aluminium sliding door systems to flood the space with even more natural light throughout the day.
All glazing systems, including our in-house developed structural glazing system Invisio, are fully thermally broken, using the latest thermal break technology to ensure the highly glazed space remains at a comfortable temperature all year round.
