The project pays homage to its rural surroundings with the use of timber cladding, while adding a modern touch through the extensive sections of glass found at the rear of the property. Slim frame sliding glass doors and casement windows in varying shapes were selected to produce a creative and contemporary aesthetic. An impressive double height glass elevation maximises the breath-taking views of the surrounding countryside while flooding the interior with natural light.
The feature mentions how each window and sliding door was designed with the slimmest sightlines possible, a key factor in creating the seamless transition between the landscape and the property interior. Maximising the surface area of these glass elevations also serves to capitalise on the passive warmth from the sun, thus reducing heating costs.
