IQ’s advice was recently featured in Grand Designs online magazine, comparing various front door designs and discussing which door design is right for which type of project. The article explores which factors should be considered when choosing a front door, including thermal performance and security.
One of the main factors to consider is material, as there is a wide range of options available for homeowners and architects to specify. From aluminium framed glass sliding doors to wooden doors with a steel core, IQ have a number of luxury front door designs to meet any home design, from traditional to contemporary.
Due to years of knowledge and practice in the glazing industry, we know that steel front doors are not suitable for coastal properties, despite being a robust option. We have completed many coastal projects over the years, where we advise specifying a front door with a steel core but a different material on the outer layer.
A number of our systems are classed as marine grade, making them suitable for use on coastal projects or areas subject to harsher conditions. We advise aluminium, one of the most sustainable metals, for front door designs.
