Coolington Barn conversion project by IQ Glass featured by Homes & Gardens

Coolington Barn featured on Homes & Gardens and MSN

Barn conversions like Coolington Barn have many advantages

Our Coolington Barn renovation project was recently featured on two websites, Homes & Gardens and MSN. Recognised on both platforms for the sheer amount of natural light gained through the use of glass on the project, the modern barn conversion features 4-metre tall sliding doors.

The impressively tall sliding door systems are used within the central courtyard design, granting the ability to merge indoor and outdoor areas when desired. The homeowner was a classic car collector and had modern glazing solutions installed to show off the car collection. This included slim framed sliding doors that can be opened to allow the cars to drive over the flush threshold and out into the courtyard.

When converting a barn or traditional building, it is important to get the balance of modern and traditional elements correct. In most cases, using slim framed or frameless systems allow the original building to maintain its original charm, whilst adding light and enhancing the surrounding views of nature that so often come with barn conversions.

Both publications featured IQ Glass to highlight the importance of bringing light into barn conversion buildings. Natural light is the key factor in modernising these traditional buildings.
