Archello recently showcased the renovation of the “Inside Out” family home in London. As part of an extensive 4-storey refurbishment, an extension was added onto the rear of the house to create an effortless link with the external living area and garden.
The extension was tailored to maximise the space for socialising and entertaining guests, a key part of the homeowners’ lifestyle. As such, the previously dark and isolated dining room was converted into an open-plan outdoor kitchen, leading out to a large open-air dining and seating space sheltered by oak solar shading.
IQ installed large sliding glass doors with minimal framing and flush threshold to afford seamless and easy access between the kitchen and external living spaces, allowing guests to make full use of the different entertainment areas on warm summer evenings.
For days when the weather isn’t as pleasant, the shelter of the open-plan kitchen space still remains inviting and bathed in natural light thanks to the frameless strip rooflight running the length of the room, together with the glass façade created by the sliding doors.
